term

A term is either a single number or variable, or the product of several numbers and variables.
Additive terms with addition are separated by a $+$ or a $-$ in an overall expression, for example in a polynomial expression. We also use multiplicative terms with multiplication to refer to factors in an expression representing a product. In general, a term is any individual element of a mathematical expression.
