arithmetic sequence

An arithmetic sequence is a sequence where a subsequent element is the previous element summed with a constant value called the common difference.

Formally,

an+1=an+dan=ak+d(nk)

The partial sum of an arithmetic sequence is

k=0na+dk=n2(2a+dn)

where (2a+dn) is the first term plus the nth term.
