cofunction

A trigonometric function f is a cofunction of g if f(α)=g(β) whenever α,β are complementary angles.

For example, sine function and cosine function:

sin(π2θ)=cos(θ)cos(π2θ)=sin(θ)

secant function and cosecant function:

sec(π2θ)=csc(θ)csc(π2θ)=sec(θ)

tangent function and cotangent function:

tan(π2θ)=cot(θ)cot(π2θ)=tanθ)
