total relation

A total relation is a relation where every element of the domain has at least one image element, i.e. the domain of definition is equal to the domain.

Formally,
a binary relation $R$ over sets $X$ and $Y$ is total if for all $x\in X$ there exists a $y\in Y$ such that $(x,y)\in R$.
