connected relation

A connected relation is a homogeneous relation where every pair of distinct elements is comparable.

Formally,
a binary relation $R$ over set $S$ is connected if for any $a,b\in S$ with $a\ne b$, then either $(a,b)\in R$ or $(b,a)\in R$.
