A shape is a representation of an object's form, or its external boundary/surface.
"Shape" includes lines, and the angles between them
"Shape" does not include position, size, orientation, or chirality.
Classification
- polygons are classified by the number of edges as triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, etc.
- triangles can be equilateral, isosceles, obtuse, acute, scalene, etc.
- quadrilaterals can be rectangles, rhombi, trapezoids, squares, etc.
- conic sections can be ellipses, circles, parabolas, hyperbolas, etc.
